Zone3 SwimRun Calf Guards 8mm Neoprene SwimRun Calf Guards are the ideal accessory for your swimrun races helping to provide the additional buoyancy lost by wearing running shoes in competition. The 8mm thick neoprene helps prevent your legs sinking, and help to improve your body position which may improve your speed and time. Protecting your legs not only helps improve your swimming technique, they also prevent irritating scratches and bruises that commonly occur when running in competition in a natural environment, as the result of direct contact with stones or brambles, etc. Being made of 8mm neoprene will also give you some natural compression which helps to reduce muscle fatigue during the event and aid recovering post event. The Zone3 Neoprene Calf Guards are specifically design for Swimrun races providing extra buoyancy in the lower legs which may avoid the need to use and carry a pull buoy during the event. Wearing calf guards also allows you to be able to kick in the swim whereas you wouldn't be able to do this using a pull buoy. Calf guards would also give some protection to the lower leg.
